Dr. El Pre-final

Well… Even though it still could use some more polishing (a lot actually), I have to let it be for now, cause I need to move onto next thing on my schedule (I’m really trying hard to keep up with it). Funny thing is, that originally it was supposed to be 325 frames and it ended up being 420. Anyway, every animator knows, that a shot can never be finished, you can only run out of time. If I find some time late, I’ll try adding some anticipation before the steam comes, but for now, it’s kinda ok. I’ve also practically finalized particles today. The Hair Puff at the end might need some tweaking, but again…for now it works. All particles are made with 3ds max Particle Flow.

Edit: I just noticed the cork stopper….It’s supposed to fall from the table, but somehow, I have apparently unintentionally moved it before making a preview :D.

This is how those particles look rendered. (Low quality renders)

And one of the test..(this is actually the “kinda” final)

Hey man, following up Tokes comment – the anticipation to the steam from his ears – If you get him to hit the ‘steam out of ears’ pose a couple of frames before the steam comes out I think it’ll work much better. At the moment you hit the pose and the steam comes out straight away, where a few frames later the eyes oppening wider would anticipate it.

I don’t like the pose on frame 80…
feels like you’re using the stretch to get him away but he’s not really pulling away from it, maybe pull in the arms in a bit, some upper spine rotation away (with the head still facing it) and pulling the clavs up? I’m just not feeling the action at the moment.

210 feels a bit harsh (the move back). I’m not a fan of the pose on 340 and The moving holds at the end feel a bit stiff and pose-to-pose, maybe some more movement on the holds, overlapping or a smoother ease into them?

Some bits are working very well, nice one Millie.

Hmm. Seems like I’ll revisit those places tonight if I find time. But carefull with comments Leon. Next thing I’m doing is the rig you wanted to use. I might as well implement a few bugs. By accident of course 😉

I’ve forgotten to unhide it for preview. And because it’s skin wrapped to face, I have to Point Cache it for render and preview, so I just wasn’t bothered this time.
